1-3-4-Primal are FAR superior to 5-6. Far Cry 5-6 pretty much ruined the series. I agree with you on this. Playing Primal again after around a 7 year break and having a ball, I had forgotten so much about the game it was like starting a brand new one.
First ever playthrough of Primal was Survival hard mode - Loved it. I've played Far Cry 2,3, & 4, came in around 2010 with FC2 when it was bundled with a video card I bought, and have loved the series since. I bought 3 & 4 exactly when they were released and loved them too, but I never got Primal when it was released.
Definitely hard. Little tricky at first but makes things interesting and drastically improves mid-late game. I’ve found every far cry from 3 and up gets too easy during mid game when all weapon options become available.
Ubisoft has released a new patch for Far Cry: Primal. According to the release notes, this patch adds a new Survivor mode and Permadeath. In addition, this patch includes a Ultra-HD Texture Pack

I recently got the itch to play a Far Cry game and saw that Primal was on sale for $7 USD on Steam. So I'm going to start playing tomorrow but I'm curious which difficulty would be best? I'm a Far Cry veteran, Primal is the only one I haven't played but this one has unique difficulties.
