Ducato - Going from the 3.0 litre to the 2.3. We recently changed our 2012 Comanche to a newer 2017 model and are very happy with it however there is a distinct and noticeable lack of oomph from the newer engine. This is especially noticeable on hills or even slight gradients where the speed drops and the dashboard screen advises me to change down.
How long does an oil and filter change take on the FIAT Ducato III Van (250, 290) 130 Multijet 2,3D 131hp / 96kW? It all depends on the size of the engine and the features of the drain design. For the Ducato III Van (250, 290) 2.3 D 130 Multijet Diesel engine, an oil and oil filter change can take 30 - 55 minutes. Engine:F1AE0481D88 kw 120 hp 3600 rpm 2006 -2012Oil Fiters :- Dreissner O0682DREIS- Mann W 914/28- Mahle OC570- Bosch F026407024Oil:SAE: 5W- You also have to update the oil degradation (condition) counter through the engine ECU to tell it that the oil is new, otherwise it still calculates the oil condition on the basis of the last change it was notified about and will put you in limp mode if it decides the oil is too dirty or diluted based on driving conditions in the elapsed period
Thanks for the reply, the last service was at 28k, it's now at 39k, I've got oil & all filters and going to service myself this week, but on my way back from London (I'm in Oldham) last night I got the flashing oil light (very annoying/distracting in the dark!) might have to take to a decent garage now, who's got the equipment to reset (first time in 40yrs I'll have a garage do an oil change!!)
Apr 13, 2019. #3. You do not need to remove the grill to drain the coolant. The radiator has a top pipe and a bottom pipe, usually at the left and right hand tank sides respectively, as you look down on the engine from the front. So you should lay underneath and look for a hose clamp to the nearside if it's RHD, to the offside if LHD.
Once the numerous checks are carried out, the diagnostic device should be used to attempt to clear the fault and, if this is successful, the actual differential pressure reading while the engine is running will be critical. A well-serviced Fiat Ducato 2.3-litre will have an idling DPF pressure somewhere between eight and 15mbar.
Also, occasionally when cold and powering up a hill I can make the clutch slip (only by a couple hundred rpm) this only happens ONCE on a drive, 9/10 when the engine is pretty much stone cold. I am convinced that this could be slight drag caused by a work release bearing, hence my questioning about gearbox removal for replacement.
