Connection between the watch and the strap is not reliable and constantly dropping out during activity. Some runs are OK, connection stays stable, so both devices work well. During some activities connection stays for sometime (say 10 minutes) but become intermittent for the next 10 - 20 minutes before becoming stable again.
ANT more reliable and can paired with multiple devices. BLE usually for connecting to phone or zwift w/o ANT dongle and its max connection usually 1 but rarely 2 or 3. From what i heard recently garmin hrm pro received update and got max 3 BLE connetions from 2 connections.

However, when not in an active workout, if I take the watch off (but keep the strap on and connected) the HR data field shows no data as if it is not connected. I look at the connect app and the same there, no live data, no steps etc. The hr sensors on the watch are still emitting light so it appears that there is an issue.
