The 250d is better than most DSLRs for focusing during video but you can't use the viewfinder whilst shooting. A huge choice of lenses is less important than having the ones you need at a good price. I would seriously look at the Panasonic range for combining stills and video. -- hide signature --.

I have one too and has a good normal focal length feels (because of the 30+mm FoV on Crop). 2.8 aperture makes it some steps brighter over the kit lenses and has a good enough macro range because of being compact.
