The following cables are compatible with these cameras (as of May 2023). 1: Can be used with the PowerShot V10. 2: Can be used as a cable for data communication. Do not connect devices to supply power. 3: The transmission rate when Interface Cable IFC-100U is used is equivalent to SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.2 Gen 1).
To prove out for sure you'll need to flatten a battery completely, put back into camera dead-flat (make sure the camera doesn't turn on), then plug in the USB cable (computer powered on) and wait say 30 minutes. If camera turns on after that time, then the charging circuit is officially an undocumented feature.

You won't be able to use the your micro-USB cable to power the camera. Google "DC Coupler DR-E12" - this is what you need. Plus an AC adapter for the dummy battery. HDMI would be useful with a device like the Elgato Cam Link, but you won't need it for the Camera Live app - it will work directly via USB.
If there is insufficient charge left in the camera battery, the camera cannot communicate with EOS Utility. In this case, replace the battery with a charged one, or use an AC adapter kit ACK-E6 (Separately available).Your computer does not supply power to the camera through the interface cable.
I have ordered this cheap adapter from Ali Express and it works perfectly well to charge the Canon G7X MIII through USB-C as well as to power the camera without needing any battery inside. Make sure you use a decent USB-C to USB-C cable when you do this! This seller also sells one along with the adapter which works well for me.
